docIAC was formed with a primary goal to connect doctors with opportunities to accelerate their financial independence. In doing so, we aim to provide value to companies at all stages of the business cycle by opening new investment opportunities and access to vetted healthcare thought leaders.

Network Benefits

Accelerate your financial independence with exclusive access to docIAC opportunities in the following categories:

docIAC searches for accredited investments with high probabilities of success. Our process is to vet investments to find investments that we want to put our money into. We then present these same investments to our network of doctors for their consideration. We aren't investment advisors or investments bankers. We are simply investors who have access to investments that most individual doctors don't.
Companies from start up to Fortune 500 names use advisors but most don't know where to look. We have created a network of both companies looking for advisors and vetted doctors to fill those positions. Our consulting opportunities range from phone surveys to in person interviews to advisory board positions.
Looking for a longer term relationship with a company, consider consulting. Included in the consulting category are clinical trial opportunities.

Meet the principals committed to creating a healthier financial future for all network members.

D.J. Verret, MD, FACS
D.J. Verret, MD, FACS

Dr. D.J. Verret brings a unique skill set to investing. Starting a medical practice from scratch forced Dr. Verret to learn business. Once his business was successful and armed with an undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering, Dr. Verret sought out to invest in alternative investments. After losing his first investment, he started learning how to be a winner. Through networking and research, the tides have turned and now he has more investments in successful companies than not. Few people in healthcare better understand the challenges and opportunities across the entire healthcare continuum. Dr. Verret’s resume includes board of director positions with a multispecialty physician practice, a clinically integrated healthcare delivery organization, and the local county medical society. He has served or serves on several scientific advisory boards and has been a mentor advisor to both the North Texas Enterprise Center and Healthcare Wildcatters. As a practicing physician Dr. Verret keeps up with the latest in medical technology through his appointment as a clinical assistant professor at UT Southwestern Medical Center and educator at both the university and in a nationally accredited physician fellowship training program.

Lou Basenese brings 16 years of experience as an investor and independent analyst to docIAC. A former investment consultant at Morgan Stanley, he helped direct over $1 billion in institutional capital before leaving and co-founding Wall Street Daily, which quickly became one of the web’s largest financial publishers with a daily circulation of more than 700,000 investors. Lou is also the Founder of Disruptive Tech Research – an independent equity research and advisory firm, focusing exclusively on disruptive technology investments. His unique investment approach combines behavioral finance - particularly hype cycles of technology adoption – with a top-down analysis of patent filing activity to identify the most promising and timely technology trends. Then, he employs traditional, bottom-up fundamental analysis to uncover micro- and small-cap ideas that are under-followed, under-appreciated and undervalued. Lou has been fortunate to appear regularly on CNBC’s Closing Bell, as well as have his analysis featured in other media outlets, including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Morningstar, Business Insider, Forbes and MarketWatch. He earned his MBA from the Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College.
