Lou Basenese, MBA
Lou Basenese brings 16 years of experience as an investor and independent analyst to docIAC. A former investment consultant at Morgan Stanley, he helped direct over $1 billion in institutional capital before leaving and co-founding Wall Street Daily, which quickly became one of the web’s largest financial publishers with a daily circulation of more than 700,000 investors. Lou is also the Founder of Disruptive Tech Research – an independent equity research and advisory firm, focusing exclusively on disruptive technology investments. His unique investment approach combines behavioral finance - particularly hype cycles of technology adoption – with a top-down analysis of patent filing activity to identify the most promising and timely technology trends. Then, he employs traditional, bottom-up fundamental analysis to uncover micro- and small-cap ideas that are under-followed, under-appreciated and undervalued. Lou has been fortunate to appear regularly on CNBC’s Closing Bell, as well as have his analysis featured in other media outlets, including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Morningstar, Business Insider, Forbes and MarketWatch. He earned his MBA from the Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College.
